My name is Leana and I am the English Language Assistant at the BHAK Korneuburg for the 2019-2020 school year. I am 23 years old and I am from the United States. As my family immigrated to the United States from Antigua, West Indies in the early 90’s, I have spent my whole life in a small city of Connecticut known as Bridgeport. In May of 2018, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Public Health and a minor in Sociology from Franklin and Marshall College. Go Dips!
Although I have only been in Austria for a short while, I have really enjoyed my time here so far and I am excited for what is to come. Experiencing Austria’s Lange Nacht der Museen in Vienna and visiting Schönbrunn Palace are a couple examples of the exciting activities I have accomplished in Austria thus far. Moreover, I have delighted in walking around the Korneuburg Hauptplatz and relished in the discovery of the several grocery stores, which the BHAK faculty brought to my attention.
I feel very blessed that I have been placed at BHAK Korneuburg as one of my schools because of the friendly, cooperative, and pleasant environment cultivated by the faculty and students. Finally, it is amazing how much I have learned about Austrian culture so far as well as what I have been able to teach about the US! I hope to continue to facilitate this atmosphere of cultural exchange and help students reach their full potential!
